三、主讲人（Speaker）：Martin Weisser
Martin Weisser obtained his MA in English Linguistics, English Literature, and Galloroman Philology from the University of Wuerzburg, Germany, in 1994, and his PhD in English Linguistics in 2001. In 2010, he completed his professorial thesis (habilitation) at the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
His main interests are in the corpus-based analysis of English, with a special emphasis on pragmatics, as well as most other aspects of spoken and written language, including the creation of web-based teaching materials for teaching linguistics.
四、讲座内容（Abstract）：
This workshop will start by covering the essentials of searching corpora for individual word forms using dedicated retrieval programs, such as AntConc or my own SPAADIA viewer. Once we'll have covered the basic issues in this type of concordancing, we'll move on to developing an understanding of how to specify more complex linguistic patterns in the form of regular expressions and discuss the advantages, problems, and potential pitfalls in using such powerful pattern-matching techniques.
